The aim of education simultaneously reflects the current needs & aspirations of a society as well as its lasting values & human ideals. At any given time & place it can be called the contemporary & contextual articulations of broad & lasting human ideals, aspirations & values.
Formative Assessment (F.A) refers to a system of school based evaluation that covers all aspects of a students’ development. It is a developmental process of students which emphasizes on two fold objectives. These objectives are continuity in evaluation & assessment of broad based learning & behavioral outcomes.
The major emphasis of F.A is the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (C.C.E) of students ensuring their intellectual, emotional, physical, cultural & social development. Therefore, it will not be merely limited to assessment of learner’s scholastic attainments. F.A as a means of motivating learners to provide feedback and follow up work to improve upon the learning in the classroom and to present a comprehensive picture of a learner’s profile. This can be done in Alva’s Central School.
